Women of all ages and skills come along every Sunday in winter to have a swing, get their eye in and test out their arm. Whilst we have many competitive players who will give you a good run for your money, some of our members are new to the sport, perhaps having only ever played softball or cricket.

 

Our players are a diverse group from a range of backgrounds and experiences. Although we are based at Moore Park, near The Entertainment Quarter, women have been known to travel from all corners of the greater Sydney region to join us - spanning the Northern Beaches, the west, the Shire and the Hills.

 

Also, if you are injured or have just put your cleats out to pasture, the League is always looking for coaches and umpires to help out the League.

Sydney Swingers Golf is a friendly group of social golfers of all ages and skills.  We have over 30 members at the moment and there is no cost to join.

We currently play one organised game of golf each month at courses in the Sydney metropolitan area.  In addition, several of our members enjoy mid-week games.

We are making our group more formal, including regular Stableford competitions, and prizes across the year as well as weekends away in the Hunter Valley/Central Coast etc.

Bentstix Gay and Lesbian Hockey Club has seen amazing growth in the past several years.

Bentstix currently competes as Australia's 1st gay team in a straight league competition (Sydney Hockey Association).

In 2008, we entered two men’s teams and one women’s team in the Asia-Pacific OutGames in Melbourne.  In 2009, we competed at the World Outgames in Copenhagen.

Unbiased Bowling is an all-inclusive Lawn Bowls Club for players of all levels and all ages.

Using the facilities and greens as social members of Marrickville Bowling and Recreation Club, Unbiased Bowling members meet every Sunday at 12:30 pm to commence play at 1:00 pm.

Bowlers are also welcome to participate in club games on Tuesdays at 1pm and the Pennants competition as part of the Royal New South Wales Bowling Association.

Free lessons are available from the club coach and bowls are available for loan during play.

Road Runner's is a motorcycle group for Gay & Lesbian riders. We are not an incorporated group; we don’t have a president, a chairperson or treasurer; and most important we don’t have any membership fees. We don't really care what type of bike you ride; whether it’s a sports tourer, caferacer, chook chaser or highway cruiser you're more than welcome at Road Runners.

Our group started life in Sydney where it has been established for over 25 years and has a small but active membership. The guys from Queensland have joined us by setting up their own group in 2009.

Our ride philosophy is quite simple: just turn up on the third Sunday of every month and go somewhere! You can see our upcoming rides in the Upcoming Events section.

Anyone is more than welcome to plan and lead a ride including rides away and our traditional Easter long weekend ride.

The Sydney Convicts was formed with two broad goals in mind -

 1. To provide a forum for gay men to play competitive rugby in an accepting and supportive environment, and

 2. To represent Sydney in the local rugby competition, and in tours and tournaments in Australia and abroad.

 The unofficial goals of the Convicts are to present an alternative image of gay men to both the mainstream and the gay community, and make football accessible to those who would otherwise be discouraged from playing rugby by perceived prejudice in the mainstream football community.

Sydney Frontrunners was established in 1983 and welcomes anyone who is interested in running.

We welcome runners of all abilities, whether beginners or experienced, recreational or competitive. You don’t have to be an accomplished runner before running with the club. Our primary Saturday run and other runs and training sessions offer something for everyone. Sydney Frontrunners is a member of Team Sydney Inc. and International Front Runners (IFR).

SUBS is a non-profit making social diving and snorkelling club for gay men and lesbians and their friends in Sydney and beyond. The club was formed in 1993, and has grown to around 90 members.

Membership is open to gay men and lesbians and their friends with a common interest in diving or snorkelling. 

SUBS dive every month in and around Sydney, and include several trips per year to dive on the North and South Coasts. Our dive days include both shore and boat dives.

The Sydney Rangers Football Club started in 1997 and has been going strong ever since. We are a GAY Soccer/Futsal Team. 

We play every Sunday between 3:30 to 5:30 at Centennial Park, along Oxford Street, above the underground reservoir. Matches are geared towards all levels of players. Depending on numbers on the day, we play 5-10 players each side on a reduced size field. Most importantly, the Rangers' club is fun and friendly.

The Flying Bats were established 21 years ago by women who wanted to provide Sydney's sporty lesbian masses a safe and supportive environment in which to play football. The club has thrived over the years enjoying phenomenal success and popularity. We are not exclusively lesbian and welcome any women to come and play football.

We are a non-profit amateur football club with a non-political agenda. Our primary objective is to ensure the continued existence, success and growth of the club. We also strive to ensure that lesbians in Sydney have a fun and relaxed environment in which to play football and socialise.

Slowpitch softball is a game that we can all play! It`s fun, very social and as competitive as you want it to be. We have a great mix of people, from the  complete beginners that join at the start of each year to some who have been playing with us since we started in 1998.

There are gay men, lesbians, gay friendlies, beginners and experienced players who like to have a bit of a hit. The guys and girls are from all aspects of our community from straights, twinks, bears, gym bunnies to st8acting and a big group of lesbians.

Regular social matches are organised throughout the winter months, while in summer we coordinate weekly competition and a full league. We played with 11 teams - more than 150 players.

We play on the diamonds opposite Fox Studios and the summer league games are played each Tuesday evening starting 6.30pm. We meet up again after the games at the Alexandria Hotel who are looking after us for our post Game drinks and season functions.

We are very friendly and welcoming and it is a great way to meet guys/girls that you probably would not meet on the usual circuits.

Wett Ones is Sydney's Gay and Lesbian Swimming club and was established in 1991. We are an inclusive club and welcome all lesbian, gay, transgender, queer, bisexual and heterosexual swimmers and their friends interested in swimming and related activities.  

Our goal is to support and encourage swimming at all levels in a friendly environment. While our main focus is on swimming in the pool, our members compete in various carnivals, ocean swims and triathlons too. 

At Wett Ones, we try to cater for all swimmers: the beginner to the advanced. Because we use several lanes, we have a program to suit you in our swimming sessions, from stroke correction through to advanced training for competition. Our coaches are all accredited, ensuring training is soundly based.

Since it's commencement in 1995, Amazon Tennis Club has been a major organisation in the lesbian sporting community.

With weekly competitions and social tennis being held all year round, Amazon Tennis Club has also been a great outlet for social activity amongst the Sydney lesbian community. It continues to foster tennis talent as well as facilitating social events.

 The league is intended for gay men and women but any person may join, regardless of sexual preference, so long as that person accepts and is supportive of the right of other people to follow and enjoy a gay life-style.

The league conducts a tenpin bowling competition to find a champion. The league fosters and maintains a spirit of good fellowship and true sportsmanship.

Sydney Rams was formed for the gay community in 1984 and has become one of Australia's foremost bowling leagues. We are a competitive league with a large social aspect  and, besides weekly bowling, we conduct things such as: 

  • Annual picnics
  • Bus trips away from Sydney
  • Our famous bingo night the proceeds of which are donated to charity

 As a "handicap" league, everyone in the league has a chance of winning! From the experienced bowler down to the beginner - our handicap system puts us all on an level playing field.

Freezone Volleyball Club Inc. aims to develop a volleyball league to cater for the physical fitness, social and team participation needs of the Sydney gay and lesbian population. We rely on your honesty and participation in training, tournament, and social events to keep our vibrant organization growing. 

Freezone provides a gay and lesbian friendly environment to meet people in a sports setting, not a pub, bar, sex or dance club.  Recreational players are encouraged to maintain fitness whilst having fun playing a game they enjoy. Tournaments during key gay and lesbian festivals provides access to sporting participation for visitors and locals alike.
